Couturier for the people's princess

After graduating from London college of Fashion with PGCert in creative pattern cutting in 2008, I was fortunate to find a full time job as a junior pattern cutter at one of the London´s renowned couturier Belleville Sassoon.
Belleville Sassoon was one of the prominent couturier for Princess Diana. Just like Princess Katherine is today, Diana was a fashion icon and thanks to her, many british fashion houses prospered. Back in the heyday, women from all over the world flocked to London to order made to measure suits and evening dresses from one of Diana's favourite couture house.

My main roles there were assisting the head pattern cutter by tracing and making amendment to patterns and cutting all the cloth for sampling.
I have picked up many professional tips for pattern cutting and sample making from my dear colleagues. And in particular it was invaluable to learn how to cut cloth to professional standard, as precise cutting is the foundation of dress making. There are professional "Cutters" working in Fashion and I'm so thankful I had this opportunity to perfect this skill.

I wish to pass on those know-hows to the next generation. As the brand grow, I would like to implement a trainning program for students in order to do my bit to sustain the quality of the clothing produced in the future.
